Thanksgiving Bracelet

Thanksgiving Story Bracelet

With this bracelet you will know    (Start with a pipe cleaner.)
The first Thanksgiving that was long, long ago.
The Pilgrims set sail from far away
On the Mayflower with tall white sails.   (Insert a white bead.)
They sailed many days across the ocean blue.  (Add a blue bead.)
The seas were rough, but the ship came through.
At last they spotted land so green.  (String on a green bead.)
They were so happy they cheered and screamed.
The first year was so hard and black.  (Now a black bead.)
Many died and wished that they could go back.
But the Native Americans gave them a hand
And helped them survive in the strange new land.
They decided to celebrate in a special way
And that became the first Thanksgiving day.
They prepared a feast with turkeys brown  (Add a brown bead.)
And red cranberries that they had found.   (Time for a red bead.)
Yellow corn that they had learned to grow  (Insert a yellow bead.)
And orange pumpkin pies, don’t you know!   (Last an orange bead.)
But before they ate the turkey and dressing,
They all held hands for a thankful blessing.  (Twist the ends of the pipe cleaner
 to make a bracelet.)

Thanksgiving Program

While I wasn't able to get any pictures of the program, I was able to get these pictures during our yummy lunch.

Pasta Necklaces

Before our program on Wednesday, we made some beautiful pasta necklaces. I love seeing the concentration on their faces!

Thanksgiving Placemats, Journey, and Cornucopia

We made Thanksgiving placemats.
We went on a walk through the First Thanksgiving. We had 12 stops along the way where we learned about the journey that the Pilgrims made and we answered questions that related to each part of the journey.

 We also colored cornucopias.

Thanksgiving Activities

Just some of the activities we did as we learned about the First Thanksgiving.

We made some Native American homes.

 We did a sorting activity.
We made our own little Mayflowers.
We also made some neat Native American hats.

Beware

Beware of our S Snakes!!!!!

Beaded Pumpkins

5 Years Old

This month, we had two very special boys turn 5 years old! Not only did they turn 5 years old, but they were both so happy when they completed this puzzle all by themselves in less than 10 minutes. They are growing up so fast.

Blend Ladders

As we have learned our vowels and some of our consonants, we have been working on blend ladders. These are helping us learn how to read. We go over these each day and some days, we do different activities with them. On this day, we broke into groups, worked on our blend ladder, and then presented it to the class.
