Melted Crayon Leaves, Fall Trees, and Outside Math

Using a grater that you have to turn, we grated some yellow, orange, and red crayons.  This was hard work and they had to work together to get it to turn. 

We turned these pieces into the beautiful melted crayon leaves you can see in the hallway around our classroom door. 

 We painted fall trees.

 They loved playing with chalk outside during recess.

 Instead of taking our math lesson inside, we had our math time outside in the beautiful weather.  There were circles on the ground with different numbers inside.  I'd call out a number and they would have to run around, find a circle with the correct number inside, and stand inside that circle.  This game was a big hit.
